We all need some laughs in our lives  — don’t you think?

Unhappily Married in Valencia was commissioned by Playwrights’ Arena and DTC, to adapt Guillén de Castro’s Los mal casados de Valencia (1618).

Laurel says: “When I first read the literal translation of Los mal casados de Valencia, I couldn’t believe that over 400 years ago the conversations about marriage and fidelity were so – well – modern. In the end of that play the marriages were so bad, they were dissolved by the police! And it was still a comedy.  I knew that was the play I wanted to adapt.”
