Casa de empeños

by Christian Nájera Jiménez

About the play

On her first day on the job, Leonor comes across a copy of “Los empeños de una casa.” Interestingly, the characters in the book share names with her and her new colleagues: Carlos, Castaño, and Ana. Intrigued, Leonor will try to unravel the mystery of that book without losing her freedom. Inspired by “Los empeños de una casa,” by Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, this play is a baroque sitcom about adapting and adjusting.
